A thorough background check includes many things. We do a criminal background check, to see if the potential tenant has ever been convicted of any felonies. We also do a credit check because we think it’s important to know how an applicant has handled financial obligations in the past. We also do an employment verification to ensure the applicant has a job and earns enough money to pay the rent on time every month.
Our rental history check includes talking to current and former landlords to find out what kind of tenant this person was. We also conduct a national background check, which verifies the applicant’s identity by matching up the social security number. It also allows us to check the terrorist watch list and the sexual predator registry and much more.
Once we complete the entire screening process, we present the potential tenant to the property owner, who has the final say in who they would like best to live in their property.
